Shridhar Phadke (born September 9, 1950) is a well-known Marathi music composer from Maharashtra, India. He is the son of the well-known Marathi singer and composer Sudhir Phadke and the singer Lalitabai Phadke. Without any formal training in music, he composed his first tune for a devotional song Devachiye Dwari’ while studying in the United States. The song was performed by Sudhir Phadke on one of his shows in the United States. This song was later recorded in the voice of Suresh Wadkar for the album Omkar Swaroopa.
Shridhar Phadke’s career as a music director officially began with the film Laxmichi Paule (1982). The director of the film liked his tune for the song ‘Phite Andharache Jaale‘ so much that he asked Shridhar to compose all songs in the film. Since then, Shridhar has composed music for numerous Hindi and Marathi films like Laxmichi Paule, Hridaisparshi, Gharabaaher, Vaarsa Laxmicha, Putravati among others.
